Transmission and Distribution

About 10 percent of the total electrical energy produced in the U.S. is lost during the transmission and distribution of the electricity. NEMA supports efforts to improve energy efficiency in the T&D arena.

NEMA also works closely with the Department of Energy’s Office of Electric Transmission and Distribution, a program developed to ensure a reliable and robust U.S. transmission grid for the 21st century.  To learn more about this program, click here.
