Daktronics, Inc. announced it has been awarded a contract in excess of $4.5 million (USD) to design, manufacture, and install a unique integrated scoring and display system in Toronto's Rogers Centre (formerly SkyDome), home of Major League Baseball's Toronto Blue Jays. The order was booked during the company's third quarter.
Daktronics will replace the existing display with its ProStar® VideoPlus technology, utilizing state of the art light emitting diode (LED) technology and providing greater resolution, increased brightness, and improved viewing angles for Blue Jays fans.
"The new display system in the Rogers Centre will help keep the facility on the forefront of technology and entertainment," said Kirk Simet, Daktronics national sports system sales manager. "Daktronics is the premier designer and manufacturer of large integrated super systems, and our success comes from the ability to understand the needs of our customers and develop unique solutions that meet those needs, incorporating the best technologies available. It is with great pride that we announce this project with the Blue Jays. We look forward to serving their organization and fans for many years to come."
Daktronics Canada will support the system with technical and on-site support. "This is a very significant project for Daktronics and Daktronics Canada," said Jean-Louis Legault, president of Daktronics Canada. "With our Canadian operation we can truly offer the Rogers Centre a solid partnership now and for the long term."
